EMURGO Ventures will co-host the largest ever Cardano Web3 hackathon, Cardano EMURGO BUILD 2023, organized by a Cardano founding entity and will award up to $2 million in total prizes.

For Cardano EMURGO BUILD 2023, EMURGO Ventures is teaming up with DoraHacks, a leading Web3 hackathon organizer and the world’s most active multi-chain Web3 developer community with over 300,000 multi-chain developers and experts.

Along with the $2 million total in prizes and grants, the Cardano EMURGO BUILD 2023 Hackathon is a great chance to make your Web3 product stand out in front of blockchain industry experts and VCs and receive investment funding. The goal behind the hackathon is to promote the adoption of Cardano’s Web3 ecosystem by helping Cardano developers to create products and services with real use cases on top of the Cardano blockchain.

There will be three tracks hackathon participants can choose from: DeFi Derivatives, Aggregators, and Zero-Knowledge (ZK).

In this blog, we will discuss one of those tracks, aggregators, further.

DeFi & NFT aggregators

In simple words, an aggregator combines data from multiple sources and offers a single consolidated view for investors and traders. For a Web3 blockchain hackathon, these could be for DeFi (decentralized finance), DEXs (decentralized exchange), or NFTs.

Given their utility in a blockchain ecosystem, aggregators are quickly gaining momentum and are often regarded as the future of on-chain trading for DeFi platforms.

For example, a DEX aggregator allows traders to make smart trading decisions by gathering data from various DeFi protocols and integrating them into a single interface. It also helps perform other functions such as connecting liquidity pools, reducing transaction costs, depositing funds into DeFi pools, and much more.

Another example could be data aggregators, where users can get a visual macro perspective on tokens, search smart contracts, track wallets and conduct analysis. The platform aggregates data and analyzes millions of wallets and adds context to on-chain data.

According to Dune’s 2021 analytics report, a surge in aggregator trading volumes touched an all-time high of nearly $6 billion during the winter of 2021.

Cardano EMURGO BUILD 2023 Hackathon developers can also use their skills and knowledge to create aggregator tools leveraging Cardano blockchain data for NFT users. NFT aggregators in particular have the power to change how Web3 and Cardano’s users interact with NFTs by providing unified comprehensive data on a certain aspect of NFTs.

Overall, aggregator tools can help compile data on Cardano DEXs, Cardano DeFi protocols, and Cardano NFT marketplaces for users and traders to make more informed decisions.
