SINGAPORE, 16th April 2025 — EMURGO, a co-founding entity of the Cardano blockchain and a leading provider of Web3 financial services, proudly announces the appointment of Phillip Pon as CEO of EMURGO Group, effective immediately.
Ken Kodama, founder of EMURGO, will transition to Chairman after eight years as CEO, upon the successful completion of the implementation of the five milestones outlined in its original roadmap for Cardano, which has now achieved full decentralization and community governance.

“I am honored to lead EMURGO at this pivotal moment of growth for both Cardano and the broader Web3 ecosystem,” said Phillip Pon. “Our focus is clear—we are committed to reshaping financial services through meaningful innovation, with real-world asset tokenization at the core. I’m excited for this next chapter as we drive adoption and unlock new value for users and partners globally.”
Phillip, the new CEO, brings deep experience in blockchain, DeFi, and emerging markets to accelerate EMURGO’s vision. While EMURGO remains committed to the Cardano ecosystem, it is now entering a new phase, evolving into a more execution-driven organization to build a new financial stack.
