EMURGO co-hosted a Cardano booth at TOKEN2049 Singapore alongside Cardano Foundation and organized an after-party to celebrate the Cardano community’s growth and commemorate the 5th anniversary of Cardano’s official mainnet launch.

EMURGO announces $200 million investment in Cardano ecosystem over the next three years
In an interview with CoinDesk, EMURGO CEO Ken Kodama announced EMURGO’s investment of $200 million into the Cardano ecosystem over the next three years via its investment arms EMURGO Ventures and EMURGO Africa.
By current market capitalization figures, Cardano is one of the largest proof-of-stake blockchain networks and has also been designed to be environmentally friendly since its inception.
Set up and launched in 2021, EMURGO Ventures and EMURGO Africa invest in Web3 startups and middleware companies building on the Cardano blockchain or displaying synergy with Cardano. EMURGO Africa focuses on the Middle East and Africa in particular while EMURGO Ventures focuses on blockchain startups outside those regions.
In Africa, EMURGO Africa has already partnered with local tech venture-building studio Adanian Labs and started Adaverse, a Cardano accelerator program, to accelerate and invest in more than 15 Web3 startups.
EMURGO celebrates Cardano’s 5th anniversary
The official Cardano mainnet was launched in September 2017. To mark its 5th anniversary, EMURGO and Cardano Foundation also celebrated this special occasion at the Cardano community pool party following TOKEN2049 Singapore.
Over this period, Cardano has grown to become a large global community with over 6.8 million minted NFTs, over 3.9 million ADA wallet addresses (as of October 2022), more than 3,200 stake pools, and 73% of circulating ADA being staked to secure the Cardano network.
With Cardano’s network rapidly growing and the blockchain & Web3 industry expanding year-over-year, blockchain-related jobs have continued to be in hot demand.
EMURGO Academy, the education unit of EMURGO, provides a full learning experience for both developers and non-developers to learn Cardano and transition to a career in blockchain.
EMURGO’s Cardano-themed pool party packed with Community and VIPs
Following TOKEN2049, EMURGO organized and hosted an after-party for the Cardano community and exclusive guests.
The fully booked special event was attended by Cardano community members, blockchain industry officials, business executives, entrepreneurs, and more to mingle and network.
Some of the attendees included representatives from high-profile Cardano projects such as Clay Nation, SingularityNET, notable exchanges Coinbase, Binance, Huobi Global, Bittrex Global, and other entities in the blockchain industry including Mintable NFT marketplace, Klaytn, Wave Financial, Fenbushi Capital, and Blockchain Founders Fund, among many others.
EMURGO CEO Ken Kodama, EMURGO COO Rio “Popeye” Inaba, and Cardano Foundation Head of Partnerships Jeremy Firster spoke at the event about Cardano’s growth and the exciting road ahead for the Cardano ecosystem.
